German Mortgage Business: Worst July in History
The volume of new German mortgages in July 2023 is around 32% down on the same period last year. Although this is 7% better than in June 2023, it is much worse than the usual seasonal trend. Total new mortgage business of €14.3 bn is the worst value for any July in history (or more precisely since the data series began in 2003).
